
Our beloved agave at WAKKA has finally grown a bud. Used to make tequila, the agave blooms only once in its lifetime—then dies, ending a 50-year journey.
It’s my favorite plant, so this moment is bittersweet. At 49, I probably won’t witness this again in my life. I want to watch its final bloom warmly.
If you’re visiting Omishima, don’t miss this rare and beautiful sight. We noticed the bud during Golden Week, so it may bloom in June or early July, and the flowers will likely fall around mid-August.
